Washington's Trusted Source for Custom Food Trailers, Built to L&I Code

We manufacture fully compliant, permit-ready custom food trailers for Washington State food entrepreneurs, inspected and certified before they ever leave our Portland, OR facility.

Built In Oregon. Certified For Washington.

Washington State has some of the strictest requirements for mobile food units in the country, and for good reason. Your customers expect clean, safe, code-compliant operations. So does the WA Department of Labor & Industries.

That’s why every food trailer we build for Washington customers is engineered and inspected to WA L&I standards right here at our Portland manufacturing facility. You don’t navigate the compliance maze alone. You arrive in Washington with a trailer that’s already passed inspection and a full plan set ready to submit to your local health department.

We’ve been doing this for 25+ years. We know exactly what Washington inspectors look for, and we build accordingly.

READY TO LAUNCH YOUR WASHINGTON FOOD BUSINESS?

Join hundreds of food entrepreneurs across the Pacific Northwest who trusted Quality Trailers to build their dream, on time, on budget, and built to code.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Every food trailer we build for Washington customers is engineered and inspected to Washington State Labor & Industries (L&I) code at our Portland, OR manufacturing facility. You receive your trailer already L&I-compliant, eliminating a major hurdle before you even hit the road.

Not at all. Our entire process, consultation, contract, design approvals, and payments, can be handled remotely. Many of our Washington customers never visit the facility until pickup day (or arrange third-party transport entirely).

Once your build begins and our in-house designer completes your plan set (typically 1–2 weeks after contract signing), you submit those plans to your local Washington health department for pre-approval. If the department has questions or requested changes, our team works directly with them to resolve everything before your trailer is completed.

Standard builds run 2–3 months from your 50% down payment. More complex projects, such as pizza trailers, porch-style trailers, or specialty configurations, may require additional time. Your sales manager will give you an accurate timeline at the start of your project.

We require 50% down to initiate the project, 40% upon final shop entry, and the remaining balance is due upon completion. Financing options are available through our third-party lending partners to help manage these milestones.

All trailers are factory pick-up by default, but we’re happy to connect you with trusted third-party transportation companies for delivery to your Washington location. Many of our WA customers use this option successfully.

Every trailer includes an 80-gallon fresh water tank (installed inside under the cabinets) and a 135-gallon grey water tank mounted beneath the chassis. Our NSF-listed water pump is factory-set at 45 PSI and adjustable from 30–50 PSI to meet Washington operational standards.

Yes. We work with third-party financing partners who specialize in food trailer funding. Washington entrepreneurs can also work with local credit unions or any lender of their choice. Our team can connect you with financing contacts to help fast-track your preapproval.

Oregon has no general sales or use tax, so your purchase at our Portland facility is not subject to Oregon sales tax. We recommend consulting your local Washington DMV or a tax professional regarding any Washington state use tax obligations on out-of-state purchases.

Yes. We install customer-supplied cooking and refrigeration equipment at $450 per piece. Electric cooking equipment installed under a hood (such as a refrigerated chef base) carries an additional $350 charge for a shunt-trip breaker. All cooking equipment installation includes gas lines, testing, and securing the unit.
